Jordan decided he wanted to be a referee for halloween this year. Actually he wanted to be anything that had to do with baseball. Since he was a player last year that was out. Then he wanted to be an umpire, but their uniform is nothing but a blue shirt and pants. So he finally settled for a ref (I know they are not in baseball). He only "tweeted" his whistle at a couple of people. Cody (turning 13 this saturday, YIKES) went to youth group at church instead.

family night
We had my family over tonight just to get together. We all decided that we don't see enough of each other so we are going to try and get together once a month. It was nice just spending time together. Here's one of Tom and the newest member of the family
Playing UNO. The adults were WAY more serious than the kids......HA

soccer
Cody had his final soccer game today and they got to play at the new, high school field. The boys thought this was really cool. It's got astroturf and everything. Big Pizza party afterwards.

Halloween Hayride
We went to the community hayride last night. It was fun. Although we had to stand in line to ride for about 2 hours! It was cold. Once on we went for a 3 mile ride through the community. They staged a little "drama" at one of the parks, where a girl was chased by a gorilla and there were zombies. Afterwards they have free hot dogs, popcorn and hot chocolate. That really hit the spot.

Halloween Hangman
Camp
Today was Columbus Day and as all of you probably know there was no mail today so for our family that means DAD IS OFF! So we spent the weekend at camp. Toasting marshmallows!
Since the pool was closed and it was 86' , we did the next best thing.......mother nature's pool! (Bring back any memories Di?)
Unfortunately the trees weren't changing much yet. The lake is really beautiful when the leaves change!

FOR ALL THE MOMS OUT THERE!
A friend sent me this and I just could't resist putting it on here. All you Moms click above and ENJOY
Heinz Field
Today we went and toured Heinz field. it was free day, and really neat. Here is a picture of the field from the nose bleed seats! The field has special heaters under it to melt the ice and snow in winter. It is also kept at 61' at all times , the optimal tempeture for grass to grow. The field stays green all year! The new scoreboard. Everytime the Steelers get into the "red zone" (near the endzone) these ketchup bottles pop open at the top and red pours down and makes the whole screen red. The guide told us that they don't show it on TV because everytime they would show it the Heinz company would have to pay for advertising.
This is the view from one of the $40,000 a year luxury boxes. And that's a cheap one.

We even got to go into the Steelers locker room. It was so cool! Here is Big Ben's locker..... They told us that no one is allowed to walk on the Steelers logo (it's a big superstition)
This one either
Hines Ward's Locker
And Troy......
This is the tunnel that they walk out of at the beginning of the game. The Steelers stand on the left side of the field here just out of the tunnel. The visitor stands over on the right. The visiting team has to go out to the other side of the field and around at half time to get to their locker room at half. It was designed this way so that they have a little farther to walk and thus cutting into their time to rally at half. I thought that was so funny!
