good check up

I had a check up today with my primary care doctor. Things are looking good. My blood pressure was 107/70, yea! Then I found out that I lost 20 pounds! Can you believe it? I have been counting carbs, low sugar. So my doctor took me off of one of the blood pressure meds that I was on. I have to go back in a couple of months. I am still tired, and slow moving but with God's help I think each day is getting better.

Just home

Just a really quick note to tell everyone that I am home from the hospital. I was moved from intensive care on thursday, and today they let me come home. I am going to rest but wanted to thank everyone for their well wishes and especially their prayers. If not for those and the incredible strength of my husband I couldn't have muddled on. Love to everyone. Lisa

Too old for baskets?

Our annual Home from church Easter picture. Now I just have to decide where to plant the flowers.... They were all placed in the front of the church so pretty. Our Pastor said that it wasn't very often that he got to preach in the garden of eden!
So what do you think? Are the kids too old for baskets? I guess kids never outgrow candy.
Hope everyone's Easter is blessed. Remember the reason we celebrate Resurrection Day!

Heroes

Today was a very sad day in the city of Pittsburgh. There was a public memorial service for the 3 police officers who were killed in the line of duty on Saturday. Leaving for work that morning they had no idea that they would never be coming home. I think it reminds us about what is important in life. To keep those we love close and to never stop letting them know what they mean to us. To anyone who has ever served their community, and selflessly protected us above all others. To anyone who has served in the military, at home or overseas to protect our freedoms that are so precious, yet we take for granted everyday. I say "Thank you"!

eggs

So it's that time of year again......Egg dyeing time! Jordan always manages to turn himself green, or blue whatever color it is this year.

Hope everyone has a blessed easter!

Palm sunday

So this past week was palm sunday. I always like to take the palm branches that we get at church and make them into crosses, then hang them somewhere in the house. Here is this years..

meces

so our adventure for the morning.......Seems that the 2 male mice the pet store sold me was lie.......In case you don't realize it, these are baby mice! One seems to be a mother! Somebody help me! I immediately called the pet store and arranged for them to take the babies, check out which one was a female and give us a male! Why do these things happen to us?

Soldiers and Sailors

We've been studying the civil war. So today we took a field trip to Oakland to visit the soldiers and sailors museum... It was a rainy day in Oakland, but that didn't stop the kids from standing in the rain to check out the "cool" torpedo that was outside. Anything that blows up is "cool"!
They have a bunch of civil war exhibits that are really nice.

Here is some confederate money rendered worthless by the war...This exhibit showed what camp life was like for the men.
Again......anything that blows up is "cool"......
An exhibit on the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln.
After we visited the museum we walked down to the Big Carnegie Library and explored it for a couple of hours. Cody liked the teen room that has Guitar hero, X box, and Playstation to play. Tom just liked checking out the archtecture.
