Memorial weekend

So we had planned on making our way up to camp for memorial day, today. Unfortunately having all boys in my house plans can change at any moment...... Jordan decided to get into the fishing gear while we were packing. Can you guess what is coming next? Yep you guessed it .....He put a hook through his finger. I could hear him out in the driveway screaming. After several attempts to remove it we all packed into the car and drove to our local ER instead of camp. It wasn't a bad trip all in all. The nurse called him the catch of the day (which didn't amuse him at all) after 5 shots in his finger and one call to maintenance for wire cutters it was out. He was very brave, he layed there and watched the Pirate game on TV (he likes watching baseball more than cartoons). They gave him a stuffed doggie to help him with his bravery. Here are the pictures of him with his doggie and of the hook. Dad can't stand the site of blood, the smell of hospitals, any of it, so he stayed in the waiting room with Cody (at one point Cody had to wake him up and tell him to stop snoring!) Maybe they should have given Tom the doggie instead!

Simple pleasures

Today I was thinking about some of the simple pleasures of life. Like Cody getting to spend time with his brother, Kenny, going to a concert at our church....... Then a simple trip to Mickey D's.
And Jordan saving the cream soda Dum Dum lollipop he got at school today because he knows they are my favorite. Simple stuff like that. Take some time to appreciate all the simple things in your life today!

One of the proud Poppa!

New Nephew

This is our brand new nephew Dayne, Jr. and his big sisters, Madisyn (top) and Alexis. I am sure they are going to be the best big sisters ever, to their new little brother. The whole family is ecstatic about this new arrival!

little boys and flowers

Jordan just loves to go in the yard and pick me flowers. he comes in with this little bunch in his hand and couldn't wait to give them to me and put them in some water. He always picks yellow ones because he knows that is my favorite color. I think he'll make a really good husband some day! It's really cute!

More band

Cody's school had a fundraiser this evening at the local Barnes and Noble store. The band played and a portion of every book that was purchased goes to his school. Below is Cody and his teacher. No he's not trying to strangle him.....honest officer!

Interview

On wednesday Cody went for his very first "interview". Look at him in his tie and all. he is applying to Camp Cadet in July. It is a week long "camp" run by the PA State Police. Sort of like a mini police academy for kids. We are hoping he gets in but he may not. They have room for 50 kids and 130 applied. they give preference to 14 year olds because they only take 12-14 year olds. So if not htis year he will have some preference next year. So we'll see. I just thought he looked so "cute" in his tie!

Art Show

Tonight we went to Cody's very first Art Show. He was the only student in his class to be chosen to have his art admitted into the all district art show. Pretty Cool! Van Gogh's got nothing on him!

concert

It's a little hard to see but Cody had his final band concert this year. he plays trumbone (didn't get a picture of that) He's in the blue shirt in the middle. He is very good at it, I hope he keeps it up. Because of a new law in Pa he will be able to play next year for the school eventhough he will be homeschooled.

mothers day

Hi Yall! (Don't know why I am suddenly southern) Hope all the mothers out there had a nice mother's day. We went to church, had to go to the 9:00 service because Cody has manditory meetings that he has to be at to prepare for a local mission "trip" that the 6th grade is having the middle of June. Then in the afternoon Jordan had a baseball game. They lost a tough one in the 6th inning. (they only play 6 innings). We came home, Tom crashed on the couch and I cooked steaks on the grill. Real exciting lives, I know. Jordan had another game tonight, they again lost but he is having fun so what else matters? He got hit in the neck with a ball after the game, he just shook it off and got all embarresed when his "Mommy" came over to see if he was okay! During the game they had to replace the catcher becuase he got hit with a ball. And who did they replace him with? You guessed it, Jordan. I think the equipment weighed more than he did. On the way home he said he told the coach that if the catcher couldn't take the pain then he was willing to do it! HA! The stuff that comes out of his lips. Got a little scared today when I heard on the news that 2 boys were followed on the street by a sex offender. By the way if you want to check out if there are any registered sex offenders in your area go to www.meganslaw.state.pa.us/ . You might be surprised.

Above you'll find pictures of the mothers day gifts Jordan brought home from school. Yes that is puffed wheat cereal on there! Cute huh?

art show

Cody was "bestowed" a great honor at school on thursday. His artwork was the only one chosen from his entire class to be part and displayed at the All District Art Show for the Woodland Hills Academic Foundation. It will be displayed for a week (if you would like to know when and where email me) and the teacher is taking orders to have each childs artwork made into notecards that can be purchased. Way to Go Cody!!!

anniversary

May 23rd will be our 20 year wedding anniversary. So Tom and I spent a weekend "alone". We just went to the mountains but it was really nice to get away. They had some neat shops. Here we went to the Old General Store. It really was like an old general store. This is a place where they make furniture out of logs. The things they made where so pretty. Tom was loving it and couldn't wait to get home and try some out. I found him down in the basement a couple of hours after we got home stripping the bark, and sanding a log from our wood pile!

Anniversary

We stayed at the Log Cabin Inn. Everything in the room was made from logs and wood. It was really neat. Tom actually got to take time and read the paper in bed!
