art gallery
Jordan wanted to learn about Alaska so we've been doing a lapbook about it. One of the projects he did was to make his own totem pole! Here it is before papaer mache..........(bring back memories? the old paper mache?)And this is after 2 days of drying and paint! Pretty cool I thought.

b day
Today was Jordan's big 9 year birthday. This is the last year he will ever be in single digits!
In honor of his birthday we went out to dinner. He picked the Olive Garden which is an italian resturant, where he proceded to order chicken fingers and fries! Maybe the chicken was raised in Italy, who knows. We shopped a little at Dunhams sporting goods where they didn't have the roller blades that he wanted and then it was on to Toys R Us. Uncle Tim and Aunt Ruth and family sent him a gift card so he wanted to go look around. Time wasn't on our side as they closed the doors right behind us. So we were "forced" to go home and eat cake!

crafts
I got tired of looking at knitting needles lay around, or have to search in my knitting bag to find the size I need. So I took matters into my own hands and made a needle roll. I had some leftover velvety material so I made this pretty needle holder.I've had such an itching lately to sew. Unfortunately my "craft area" in the basement is a mess and I have a ton of cleaning up to do first. Sewing is much more fun!
First Place
This past saturday Jordan was one of a handful of kids who were chosen to go to AWANA Bible Quizzing. There is a written portion of the test, of which he only missed one question, and a part where they are asked oral questions and have a choice of A,B,C. They must then hold up a paddle with the correct response. Jordan didn't miss any on those. He and his partner, Ashley, took first place.........It was awesome. He has such a talent for memorizing scripture. I wish I could remember half of what he does.
I'm back
My darling husband saw how hard I was taking the fact that my camera got stolen. He lived with my camera withdrawl for over a week and tonight surprised me with a new camera. Is he awesome or what? I didn't know how I was going to make it through Jordan's birthday tomorrow without a camera. Oh the pain.....LOL

Boo hoo
As you can see it has been awhile since I have posted on here. Well, reason is,is that my camera is gone. I left it in the van on a Tuesday afternoon when we went to the park and I took some pictures of the kids on their bikes and skateboards. A couple of days ago, I realized that I had not brought it in. When I went to get it it was gone. We get these crime alerts via the telephone every once in a while and low and behold last night there was one about locking your car doors at night because there has been a rash of items being stolen out of cars in Forest Hills. I am so bummed out about this. It will be awhile before we can spend the money on a new one. So for now I'll try and write once in a while. Thanks for putting up with me. Lisa
