Away he goes! Look out below!

Family Reunion

Today was our Annual Lemley-Grubb family reunion. The food was great, except for a little rain the weather was good and fun was had by all. Here are the remaining brothers and sisters with a beautiful handmade picture of their Mom and Dad. My grandparents.
Here is one of Jordan with his Grandma. She came all the way from Ohio to be with us.
Cody collecting his prizes after the kids games. Their favorites.........Water guns!

Funny story

Tom and I just thought this was pretty funny tonight. Cody went into the bathroom (partly to get away from Jordan) and he locked the door. Jordan went to the door and discovered it was locked so what does he do?.......... He announced to Cody that all he needed was a penny, he'll be back in a minute. The little "cat burglar" jimmied the lock on the bathroom door with a penny. I don't think that's a skill that will ever go on his resume!

Pool

Most people have kiddie pools.......we have a doggie pool! Hey, you try walking around in a fur coat when its 92' out! Cool water and a tennis ball, he just needs the simple things in life!

Jordan had his end of the baseball season picnic on friday. It was real nice. Everyone brought something. I made a huge taco salad which was gone before we even got up there to eat! Oh well, I'm just glad everyone enjoyed it. Each player got recognized and recieved a trophy. Here's Jordan with his! He had a ball playing and that's all that matters anyway!

fireworks

So what's the 4th of July without a few fireworks? Thought this first one was especially cute...........

Happy Independence Day!!!!!!!!

cook out

We were home for the 4th and did our own little cook out. It was just us, actually usually always is, so we did hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans and our first time at corn this year. Here are my little corn eaters now.

Happy 4th

Hope everyone had a fun, safe 4th. We decided to stay home from camp and go to the community festival at the park. They have it every year. Mom won second place in the rolling pin throwing contest with a distance of 68 feet (hence the trophy). Not sure what that says about me. Cody was a volunteer for the juggler and participated in the watermelon eating contest.
While Jordan tried his hand (and feet) at the climbing wall.
As long as it doesn't rain we will be headed over to the local country club (not a member) where they allow any old folks to sit on the greens of their golf course and watch their fireworks. Jordan used to be really scared and hide his head hopefully we are past that stage!

Quick Quiz

Okay, quick quiz, Can you guess what the boys are doing? If you guessed finding bugs and throwing them into the bug light to see them FRY then you are right! What fun. Who needs all those expensive toys?

biking

At camp the kids can have more freedom. they go off on their bikes and ride around the campground. Here Tom decided to grab Cody's bike and chase Jordan. Only problem is his knees were in his chest the whole time!

We finally made it through a weekend without an ER visit. Camp! YEA! This is our little home away from home. Fresh air and sunshine! Love it. We had had the camper up for sale, but once we got there again and it wasn't sold we decided to keep it. You can't beat a 45 minute drive to a whole nother world.

Friends

Jordan had his friend Josiah (I like that name) over on Saturday. They were classmates this year. They always have so much fun together. Tom got a little upset with Jordan tonight. They went on a "log run" (Tom spots cut down trees on his route and then after work makes a run to get the wood). Jordan, standing at the top of the hill, decides to send a large 60 pound log careening down the hill at Tom. He was not happy. Thank goodness no one was hurt!

Help

I did my first teaching at church for the summer. I have been helping out the past few summers teaching the 2 & 3 year old class. I put up with alot of junk from my own kids but i am sure glad we are past this stage in their lives. UGH. Cody went to youth group. This is where it all begins...They are growing up so fast. He was messing around with some friends at church, boys and girls. Well when we got home it happened.........His first phone call from a girl! Help me, I am not ready for this. I don't know about these girls, she called at 10:00 at night. He was in bed, how's that for not being "cool". Of course Tom had to go up and get the whole scoop! Cody was all embarrassed! So here we go moving into something new now. Any advice from those of you who have been through it?

tub time

I was outside just now and when I came in the house I heard water running in the tub. When I went in Jordan was naked in the tub. When I asked him what in the world he was doing in the tub at 4:30 in the afternoon he said "testing out my goggles"! LOL He recently fixed the strap and adjusted them and he wanted to test them out! It was hilarious.

church

Just thought this was a really cute picture of Tom and Jordan that I took at church on Sunday while we waited for Cody to be finished with his commissioning service. Here is a picture of "most" of the young people going on mission trips this summer from our church. They range from Junior high to seniors. Cody will be going next week on the 6 grade "trip". He will be staying at the church for 4 days and they are going out into the community to do work for the poor and to visit nursing homes and a soup kitchen. Please pray for them as they devote their time to the Lord. Cody is there in the picture somewhere. They had a commissioning service for them on Sunday during both services. I cried. I think the thing that hit me was, he was up there as a teenager. Ugh...where does the time go? It certainly is a precious thing!

Salesmen

We have some budding entrepreneurs in the family! They decided to have a snowcone stand. They made about $14 to split. All the people driving by saw the "cute little children" and couldn't resist buying. LOL Tom said they saw them and said "here, let me empty my wallet for the children". Jordan told Cody not to flag down the "old people", they wouldn't buy any. Ha. Tom told him they are the ones with the money. Don't know about that. But the lesson learned was that it took them about 2 hours to make $7. They see how hard you have to work to see any return. We'll see if they learned anything in the next couple of days when we are at the pool and they blow all their money on junk! The cutest part was they kept their money in a hot wheels car box!

Last day of school

Couldn't resist taking Jordan's picture on his last day of school today. He's got all his art projects in his hand. And of course here's one of our "friendly neighborhood mailman"! How special!
